My Interesting Discovery
Well for all those people who are a bit worried about adding ringtones to the iPhone (like Mr. Chay) worry no more. There is an easy way of adding your own ringtones. And it really couldn't be easier.
Step 1: Apple uses a different extension for ringtones. So renaming any .AAC file to .M4R makes it a ringtone
Step 2: Double-click on the file and it will load in iTunes and be registered as a ringtone
Step 3: Sync your iPhone and voila... There you go... Your own ringtone!
I found this on the macrumors forums posted by someone with the pseudonym Cleverboy. The post is here

haha... someone going Scrubs style on their post title as well
Yeah haha, but damn hard sial. Can't think of much posts I can do la haha
Posted that before you la...
Would it be possible to use two iTunes instead of one? I don't really like the idea of sharing ringtones with the normal mp3s albeit the difference is only the extension. Hurmmm.
It seems that you have to use .AAC's and it only can be a certain length/size. So like you can't use the whole song.
